IRAN WORLD CUP TRAVEL HARDSHIP

The Iranian national football team has been competing in the FIFA World Cup under intense travel restrictions imposed by the US government. Following a scoreless draw against Belgium, head caoch Amir Ghalenoei heavily criticized the tournament"s conditions, nothing his team must base out of Tijuana, Mexico , and can only fly into the US 24 hours before a match.

Travel Restrictions : U.S authorities iniatially restrcted Iran's entry, forcing players to fly into the United States on the day of their matchesand return to Mexico immediately afterward, complicating recovery, training, and pre-match press obligations.

Relocated Base Camp: Due to visa complications and security concerns, the Iranian Football Federation relocated their official trainng base from Arizona to Tijuana, Mexico.

Denied Delegations: Several Iranian federation officials, support staff, and media were denied U.S entry or experienced signicficant visa delays.

Ticketting Issues: The U.S Treasury Department raised sanctions-related concerns, which led FIFA to withdraw about 1000 match tickets issued to the Iranian federation, reducing their usual crowd support.
